Nutra Holdings + AMBA Year End Poker Run/Membership Appreciation Event

Join AMBA for its Nutra Holdings 2025 AMBA Member Appreciation Event! We are holding a poker run ride at Pippy Park! To participate, riders must visit five checkpoints, drawing a playing card at each one. The object is to have the best poker hand at the end of the run. 

This is a family-friendly ride, not a race! Ride alone, with your own friends/family or with an AMBA-led group. Each person is playing in the poker run as an individual and could win individually. There will be two organized 2 loop options (5 and 12km) but if you prefer to ride on your own/with your own group, you just have to hit all 5 designated checkpoints for your selected distance. Join us afterwards for some food, beverages and prizes at Pippy Park Golf Course Admiral’s Green Clubhouse.

Choose From One of the 4 Ride Options (Maps with Checkpoints Below):

~5km - Guided/group ride - start time: 12pm at 460 Allandale Road

~12km - Guided/group ride - start time: 11:30am at 460 Allandale Road

~5km - Self-Guided - start anytime after 11am. The social event at the Pippy Park Clubhouse starts at 1:30pm so plan your ride with that in mind!

Please sign a waiver here if you have not signed an AMBA waiver for 2025.

General Ride Start: Anytime after 11am on November 15 (Rain Date: November 16)

Prize for best poker hand: $250. In the case of multiple of the same tier of best hands (i.e. Royal Flush), maximum two riders can win. Otherwise, two names will be drawn of the top card winners. Must be present to win door prizes. 

What is a poker run?

• There are no prizes for speed. There will be a course time limit to ensure an organized conclusion to the event: cards must be turned in at Pippy Park Golf Course Admiral’s Green Clubhouse no later than 215pm.

• There will be five (5) stops necessary to complete this Poker Run. At each designated stop, the participants draw an envelope with a card in it at random. Cards will be placed in non-transparent envelopes and must be presented still in their envelopes at the card drop at Pippy Park Golf Course Admiral’s Green Clubhouse. Failure to maintain cards sealed in their envelopes will result in disqualification. The envelopes will be opened at Pippy Park Golf Course Admiral’s Green Clubhouse and hands recorded. 

• The winning hand is determined by standard poker hand rankings. There are no "wild cards" allowed.

• Players will re-draw any cards that are duplicates. For example, if you draw the seven of clubs and you already have the seven of clubs, then you must put the card back and re-draw another card. This will happen at Pippy Park Golf Course Admiral’s Green Clubhouse

• A poker run should be a fun and enjoyable event for all concerned.

Here’s how hands will be ranked for AMBA’s Poker Run Ride. Hands are evaluated using standard poker rankings — the higher your hand on this list, the better your chance to win!

1. Royal Flush ♠️♥️♦️♣️The unbeatable hand — A, K, Q, J, 10 all in the same suit.

2. Straight FlushFive cards in sequence, all of the same suit (e.g. 7♣, 8♣, 9♣, 10♣, J♣).

3. Four of a KindFour cards of the same rank, plus one other card (e.g. 9♠, 9♥, 9♦, 9♣, K♠).

4. Full HouseThree of one rank and two of another (e.g. 10♥, 10♠, 10♦, 3♣, 3♥).

5. FlushFive cards of the same suit, not in sequence (e.g. 2♥, 5♥, 8♥, J♥, K♥).

6. StraightFive cards in sequence, any suit (e.g. 4♣, 5♥, 6♦, 7♠, 8♥).

7. Three of a KindThree cards of the same rank (e.g. Q♣, Q♦, Q♠, 7♥, 2♦).

8. Two PairTwo sets of pairs (e.g. 8♠, 8♣, 4♦, 4♥, J♠).

9. One PairA single matching pair (e.g. 5♣, 5♥, 9♦, K♠, 2♣).

10. High CardIf no one makes a pair or better, the highest card wins (Ace is high).

    
    

🗒️Additional Rules:

• Duplicate cards (same rank and suit) will be re-drawn at the Card Drop.

• Cards must remain sealed in envelopes until they are opened by AMBA volunteers at the Pippy Park Golf Course Admiral’s Green Clubhouse.

• The best hand wins $250, with a maximum of two winners in the case of identical top-tier hands.
