Join us for AMBA's first women's only 18 + skills clinic with Level 2 AIR PMBIA certified instructor Amy Pryse-Philips!
Amy is a seasoned mountain bike coach and rider with a deep-rooted passion for the sport. With over two decades of riding experience spanning various disciplines, Amy brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to every trail.
A proven leader, Amy has a strong coaching background, including roles as the head coach of the Newfoundland Canada Games Cycling Team and a full-time guide at Switchbacks Mountain Biking in Spain. She has also shared her passion as a coach and guide with Endless Biking, Trek Dirt Series, and Diamond in the Rough women's mountain bike camp.
Amy's commitment to rider development is evident in her Level 2 AIR PMBIA certification, the highest level of mountain bike instruction available. This, combined with her extensive racing and riding experience, including podium finishes at prestigious events like the Trans NZ Enduro and BC Enduro Series, ensures that students receive top-tier coaching and mentorship.
Whether you're a beginner looking to build confidence or an experienced rider aiming to refine your skills, Amy's dedicated to helping you reach your full potential. Let's hit the trails!
SKILLS TO BE COVERED:
Bike check
Neutral/ Ready Positions
Front Wheel Lifts (standing and seated/pedalling)
Rear Wheel Lifts
Braking
Shifting
Step-ups (need to ensure we can find an appropriate obstacle to step-up onto)
Due to insurance requirements for our skills clinics, we require participants to have an active AMBA Membership.
When: Saturday, September 7, 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
RAIN DATE: Saturday, September 14, 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Where: Meet at the field near the St. John's Pump Track on The Boulavard in Quidi Vidi.
You must sign our waiver before attending any of AMBA skills clinics.
